Earlier on Wednesday, following the peaceful integration of Kashmir with India through the passage of a number of bills including revocation of Article 370, Pakistan began an information war against India.
Republic TV exposed the vicious fake news campaign on social media by Pakistan and showed the original clip. The heavily edited video from Republic TV's The Sunday Debate with Arnab Goswami from February 24 - just ten days after the horrific Pak-backed Pulwama terror attack was shared by handles from Pakistan with malintent and with an aim to propagate ISI propaganda. The heavily-edited video was originally propagated by a Twitter handle called @WithKashmir_, which has since accepted its illegitimacy and deleted the dubious clip.
However, the clip is still being passed around by a number of Pakistani handles, many of which are verified, which begs the question being asked - why would Twitter India allow the propagation of content which is clearly a threat to national security, and also, why it wouldn't crackdown on such devious handles. Read about Republic TV's take down of the handle and expose of the country's agenda in the link below.
"Realising that there is calm in the Kashmir Valley, Pakistan has launched a campaign. This time realising that there is not one incident of violence, and that their communal and rabid rants have fallen flat, Pakistan has launched a campaign to try and create, provoke, or manufacture hatred and violence in the Kashmir violence. Ladies and gentlemen, this morning, Pakistan sponsored ISI handles tried to doctor footage to claim that Republic was speaking against the interests of the Kashmiri people, but when it emerged that the spliced and diced video was proven to be a lie, quickly, they tried to do a u-turn. we are tracking the Pakistani handles and Republic has formally informed Twitter India about this Pakistani propaganda and not for the first time-- we have done so earlier as well. we have told them earlier, after Pulwama, Balakot, that when Pakistani handles were active on Twitter, we have told them then as well.
"The problem is that Twitter does not care to clarify. The problem is that Twitter allows venomous Pakistani handles to spew ad-nauseam against national interest. And hence today we seek your support against Pak information warfare. The hashtag is #TwitterMustClarify. Twitter is operating in India and if it is allowing India's national interest to be compromised then it must clarify."
