The Indore police has confirmed that there was no foul play in the death of spiritual leader Bhaiyyuji Maharaj, and that he used his own revolver to kill himself. They have also added that the case would be closed in the next 48 hours.
Bhaiyyuji had shot himself on June 12 in his room, while his family members were outside. He was brought dead to the hospital, and soon police started investigation into this matter.
They found a suicide note, which read: "Some body should be there to handle duties of family. I am leaving. So much stressed out, fed up."
And now, Police has also found the second part of his suicide note. It has hinted at family dispute, and details about who will inherit his properties. The page read, “All my powers of finance, properties, bank accounts ... all power of signing authorities will be Vinayak because I am having trust in Vinayak. I am writing this thing without pressure.”
Earlier, the police had stated that Bhaiyyuji Maharaj was brought dead to the hospital. His family members are said to have been present when he shot himself, though they had to force open the door in order to get to him.
They found him lying in a pool of blood. The police is taking the statements of the family members, even as a forensic team is at the location, Republic TV learnt.
A number of political leaders have asked for a probe to be initiated into the death of Bhaiyyuji Maharaj. D Raja of the CPI has also asked for a probe into Bhaiyyuji Maharaj's death.
A former model, Bhaiyyuji as a spiritual leader was followed by a number of politicians. His support base included political bigwigs across the ideological spectrum.
Reports state that he was associated with key Congress, NCP and BJP leaders for more than 17 years. It has been claimed that among the list of his political followers were former President of India Pratibha Patil, Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray, MNS Supremo Raj Thackeray, Singer Lata Mangeshkar and film actor Milind Gunaji among several others.
