In a huge crackdown against separatists and backers of Pakistan in the valley, the NIA has sealed and attached the house of separatist leader Asiya Andrabi in Soura area of Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. Andrabi was arrested by the National Investigation Agency in a 2017 terror funding case earlier. She is currently in Tihar jail.
There is no search being carried out. As per provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, her house used for terrorist activity has been attached. The NIA sealed and attached her house at 7.00 am in the morning.
Asiya Andrabi was arrested in connection with a terror funding case in June and produced before a Delhi court which allowed NIA their 10-day custodial interrogation.
Andrabi was in jail earlier in a case of allegedly waging a war against the country and delivering hate speeches in Jammu and Kashmir.
In 2018, NIA sources revealed to Republic TV that the Kashmir separatist had links with Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin. Republic TV had also acessed the FIR in the case revealing that Central government has received information that Asiya Andrabi and her associates Sofi Fehmeeda and Nahida Nasreen are actively running a terrorist organisation named as Dukhtaran-e-Milat, a proscribed entity.
