In a big win for India's security forces, one of the main conspirators of the dastardly Pulwama terror attack in which 40 CRPF Jawans were martyred has been neutralised during an encounter in Tral.
Mudasir Khan has been confirmed to be one of the three terrorists who were neutralised in an encounter in J&K's Tral on Sunday. The security forces had launched a cordon and search operation in Pulwama district's Pinglish after recieving specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area.
The cordon and search operation soon turned into an encounter as the cornered terrorists opened fire forcing the security personnel to retaliate.
The security forces are likely to hold a joint press briefing later on Monday over the Tral encounter. The latest win comes days after another terrorist was killed in an encounter in Handwara.

Tral Encounter Update
March 11: Apropos our earlier press release regarding the encounter at Pinglish Tral, it is further informed that one of the two killed terrorists has been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Khan son of Farooq Ahmad Khan resident of Midoora Tral .The incriminating material recovered from the site of encounter, it is understood that the other killed terrorist was a Pakistani national codenamed Khalid. Search in the area is still underway .
According to the police records, both the killed terrorists were affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM and were wanted by law for their complicity in a series of terror crimes including attack on security establishments and civilian atrocities. Many terror crime cases were registered against them.
Moreover both terrorists were involved in planning and executing several terror attacks in the area particularly Mudasir who was involved in Case FIR No 150/2018 pertaining to attack on CRPF camp in Lethpora last year and Case FIR No 08/2018 under section 18,19,20 ULAP Act. Pertinently thr investigation so far conducted revealed that Mudasir was one of the key conspirators of the recent Pulwama NH convoy attack.
Arms & ammunition including assault rifles were recovered from the site of encounter. All these materials have been taken in the case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other terror cases.
Citizens are once again requested not to venture inside the encounter zone since such an area can prove dangerous due to stray explosive materials. People are requested to cooperate with police till the area is completely sanitized and cleared of all the explosives materials if any.
On February 14, a suicide bomber in an explosives-laden car had targeted a large CRPF convoy that was moving north on the Jammu-Srinagar highway. The resulting blast caused enormous devastation and forty personnel of the paramilitary force were martyred. The Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack minutes after the full scope of the attack became clear.
Twelve days after the heinous attack, the Indian Air Force decimated Pakistan's terror bases across the LoC with precision air strikes, post which Pakistan has initiated a sham 'crackdown' on terrorist groups on its soil.
