Bihar Medical Crisis: Posters offering reward to anyone who finds RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav crop up in Muzaffarpur

While the campaign against the Nitish Kumar Government's dismal performance in tackling the Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) gains speed, posters have been seen on Friday, proclaiming that Rs.5100 will be awarded to the person spotting Opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. AES has claimed 172 children's lives throughout the state with more than 120 deaths in Muzaffarpur alone.

Earlier on Tuesday, wife of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the death of the children is due to the negligence of the CM and due to his corrupt and insensitive system. She went on to say that in 14 years of Nitish Kumar's rule, every year there had been such deaths but there has not been any step to stop the epidemic.

Meanwhile, her own sons and RJD leaders Tejashwi Yadav and Tej Pratap Yadav have been silent on the deaths of children in the state.

On Wednesday, senior RJD leader Raghuvansh Pratap Singh too had taken a shot at his own party saying that except for Tejashwi all others were there in Muzaffarpur protesting against the Government's inaction.

"We are here, our netas are going, we are doing candle-march protests. No Tejashwi is not here. But he is not the only one person in our party, our MP like Surendra Yadav went there. We are here in Muzaffarpur," he said.

Earlier in the day, oblivious to the reality of the medical crisis in Bihar, when questioned by the media, chief minister of the state Nitish Kumar lost his calm and snapped back at the media. 

In retaliation to the confrontation, the JD(U) chief asked the media to 'stay in limits.'

On Tuesday, NDA leader and chief minister Nitish Kumar paid a token visit to the Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital in Muzaffarpur following the backlash. 

Amid widespread protest, Nitish Kumar stepped out of the hospital and sat straight in his vehicle. His convoy made its way outside the hospital premises even as hundreds of protestors sought an explanation from him for the deaths of the children.

In a slight reprieve to the Bihar health crisis, on Thursday, the National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC), took note of the deplorable health infrastructure in the country and issued notice regarding the state of government hospitals to the Union Health Ministry and all state governments and Union territories' governments too, according to ANI.
