The BJP has strongly responded to the video showing former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah misbehaving with the woman who asked for a hospital.
The party has asked Rahul Gandhi to take action against its senior leader Siddaramaiah.
Union Minister Prakash Javadekar while speaking about the incident, said, "Today what we have seen on the screen of how the ex-CM of Karnataka and Congress senior leader has behaved with the woman, it is a violation and it is condemnable. I hope HD Kumaraswamy has seen this and in Karnataka it's a cognisable offence. Rahul Gandhi instead of asking resignation from BJP leaders, must take action against his own CM."
Republic TV had accessed a shocking video on Monday where former Karnataka chief minister Siddaramaiah is seen crossing all limits while interacting with a woman voter.
During a public meeting in Varuna in Mysuru, a woman was complaining against the senior Congress leader's son Yathindra Siddaramaiah that he is available in his constituency and was also asking for a hospital.
In the dramatic footage, it is seen that as soon as the woman speaks about Yathindra the former state CM loses his control and gets up and starts yelling in public and makes the woman sit down physically.
The Congress. on the other hand. has justified Siddaramaiah's behaviour and instead pinned the blame on the woman saying that she was behaving aggressively.
The National Commission for Women has taken Suo Motu cognizance of the video which shows Siddaramaiah misbehaving with a woman at a public event.
Taking cognisance of the matter, National Commission of Women's chief Rekha Sharma took to Twitter and wrote that the commission will write to the Karnataka Police and appropriate action will be taken against the former Karnataka CM.
