BJP levels stunning charges against Rahul Gandhi on 'dubious land deals', says 'Robert Vadra is his agency'
After Republic TV and OpIndia published a report which discloses a possible connection between arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari and the Congress president Rahul Gandhi citing land purchase agreements that bear Gandhi's name, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra in holding a press conference, attacking Rahul Gandhi by presenting 4 charges.

After Republic TV and OpIndia published a report which discloses a possible connection between arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari and the Congress president Rahul Gandhi citing land purchase agreements that bear Gandhi's name, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra in held a press conference, attacking Rahul Gandhi by presenting 4 charges. While addressing the media, the BJP spokesperson said:
"The affidavit by Rahul Gandhi dating back to 2004, 2009 and in 2014 has been acquired by the medium of media, courts and whistleblower. This is about the four ways Rahul Gandhi has increased his assets. CC Thampi and armed dealer Sanjay Bhandari and all these were involved. The Modus operandi of their land dealings are:
- There is a dubious person called Pahwa. You (Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Robert Vadra) buy land from him for 20-25 lakhs.
- The same land that they previously bought from Pahwa is then sold back to him again but now in crores.
- Pawha used to take money from CC Thampi and Thampi used to take money from arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. This is the entire chain.
- Now, the farmhouse is in Delhi. It is approximately 5 acres of farmhouse. The owner is Rahul Gandhi and Indira Gandhi. And the name of the farmhouse is Indira".
He went on to attack Rahul Gandhi by putting forth 4 charges:
Charge 1: 2009-2014
- Rahul's asset earning increased from 50 lac to 2 cr
- H L pahwa, CC Thampi, Sanjay Bhandari, Gandhis involved in land dealings
- Rahul bought land from Pahwa at lesser rate
- Priyanka sold back the land to Pahwa at inflate price
- FTIL raided by PM Modi government in 2014
Charge 2: 2007-2013
- Gandhis bought 5 acres of a farmhouse in Mehrauli
- Indira farmhouse gave on rent to FTIL
- Given on rent to FTIL at Rs. 6.57 lac per month
- Rented to other firm in 3 crore
Charge 3: 2010
- 2 commercial properties worth 7 crores in Gurugram
- 2 commercial properties bought from Unitech
Charge 4: 2004-2009
- Rahul Gandhi invested in 3 accounts in HSBC in the UK
- Rahul Gandhi had an 83% stake in Bankops LTD
Earlier, Republic TV had written about OpIndia's report on suspicious land deals which were made through HL Pahwa who is on CC Thampi's payroll. Thampi is a man closely connected to both Bhandari and Gandhi's brother-in-law Robert Vadra. Union Textile Minister Smriti Irani spoke about the matter in a news briefing demanding Gandhi come clean about his links with Sanjay Bhandari and CC Thampi.
"The new facts which have come to the fore clearly establish a relationship between Rahul Gandhi and arms dealer Sanjay Bhandari. Hence his interest lies in the defence prepartion in our country deals stems not only of individual politics but his personal commercial interests, his personal family interests. Rahul Gandhi is the real face of graft. What is the personal relatioship he shares with CC Thampi and how is the land which he owns is funded by the arms dealer", Smriti Irani said.
