On Monday, Ajitesh Kumar, husband of Sakshi Mishra was assaulted by unidentified people in Allahabad high court premises in the presence of police, as per eyewitnesses. He was hit outside the court number 2 while Sakshi was inside it. The court pulled Yogi government's police in the matter and has questioned them about the incident.

Allahabad High Court gave directions to police for protection of Sakshi and Ajitesh, their lawyer said. "Only Ajitesh was beaten up. It's not known who were these people. But it proves that there is indeed a threat to their life for which they were seeking protection"
The court on Monday had declared their marriage was legal. It also ordered additional security for the couple against their families who have allegedly harassed them.
A few days ago, Sakshi Mishra, the daughter of an Uttar Pradesh BJP legislator had alleged that her life is in danger from her father after she married a Dalit man and asked the police for security. She had uploaded a video on social media on Wednesday and informed about her wedding to Ajitesh Kumar (29) last Thursday.
In another video, she has said that there was threat to her life from her father, brother and an associate, and urged the Bareilly senior superintendent of police to extend security to them. “I have married off my free will and my father has sent out his goons for us… I am tired of running, I seek police protection. If they catch us, they will definitely kill us,” she said.
