With the first day of the Parliament's winter session commencing from November 18, the BJP has asked all of its lawmakers to submit details of the activities planned and organised by them to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatama Gandhi. The BJP MPs have been asked to submit the details of the Gandhi Sankalp Yatra undertaken by them. According to the reports Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP's working President JP Nadda will take a performance evaluation of their MPs about the Gandhi Sankalp Yatra.

According to ANI, the lawmakers will be required to submit a detailed report about the events conducted by them at the parliamentary office by November 18, party sources said. The winter session of Parliament will begin from November 18 and will end on December 13.

"The MPs will attend the first day of this session and are expected to submit photographs, videos and detailed coverage in local media regarding their contribution to the call made by the Prime Minister," the party sources added.

The reports will have to be submitted to the party's parliamentary and central office. Earlier, the BJP had extended the tenure of Gandhi Sankalp Yatra by 3 months. The 120-day exercise will now end on January 31, 2020, instead of its previous deadline of October.

Gandhi Sankalp Yatra was given an extension

The 'Yatra' was given an extension after the party MPs asked for extra time stating their busy schedule due to assembly elections and political tours. Through the yatra, BJP aims at propagating Mahatma Gandhi's ideals and principles of non-violence, Swaraj and simplicity. For the 'Yatra', BJP leaders were advised to carry out rallies, public meetings, press conferences, and  'Prabhat Pheris' to deliver the ideals of the Mahatma to the common men.

A 10-member committee was formed under the chairmanship of BJP General Secretary Arun Singh, to look after the four-month-long Gandhi Sankalp Yatra.

Several BJP leaders and Prime Minister Narendra Modi carried out various events across the nation to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. All the party MPs were asked to remain in their constituencies on October 2 to flag off the program and carry out 'padayatra' for 15 days, through which they were asked to spread Gandhi Ji's ideologies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swach Bharat Abhiyan and to promote the use of Khadi.
