BJP slams Congress' 'sellout' insult at Kashmiris, says 'Pakistan makes allegations like this; apologise'

Responding on Congress' insult over Kashmiris meeting NSA Ajit Doval, BJP slammed the party and questioned their stand on the Kashmir issue while demanding an apology. They said that Congress is speaking on the lines of Pakistan.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said that nature of Congress party is corruption. "For 70 years Congress couldn't solve matters in Kashmir, and now, when it's heading towards normalcy, they're trying to stir trouble. Whenever something unifying India, Paksitan towing the lines of Congress and vice versa. I believe they should issue and apology. All that Congress party is doing is instigating."

Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, BJP spokesperson said: "He should immediately issue a statement of apology for his statement because Pakistan will use his statement against India. He must understand this."

Speaking to Republic TV, BJP general secretary Amit Malviya said: "No love for country. No desire for country. He is a senior leader. If  such a statement comes from him then what Congress thinks regarding Kashmir is a matter of concern."

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder Gupta said: "He (GN Azad) raised question on identity of Kashmiris. After abrogation of 370, Kashmiris are happy, coming time is going to be good time.  Some political and hurriyat leaders were responsible for Kashmir. Barrier of development has been abrogated. Time ahead is going to be of development. Kashmir was paradise, is and will be a paradise."

Ghulam Nabi Azad's remark:

While NSA's visit to Jammu and Kashmir and videos and pictures of his visit shows absolute normalcy in the valley, Congress has not only claimed that Centre has done wrong in scrapping Article 370, but has also insulted Kashmiris. Speaking to media before visiting the state on Thursday, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that anyone in Kashmir can be paid money to make them do what one wants. 

When asked about NSA Doval's visit to Kashmir and about people seen with him in the video, the Rajya Sabha leader of Opposition said "Paise deke aap kisiko bhi saath lelo" (You can take anyone along by paying them money.)

NSA Ajit Doval reviews situation in Kashmir

NSA (National Security Advisor) Ajit Doval went to a two-day review visit to the Jammu and Kashmir amid the security conditions in the region. He can be seen interacting with the locals, taking a review of their day-to-day activities and assuring them that the situation is normal in the sector. In the 8 videos from Kashmir, NSA Ajit Doval is seen interacting with the local citizens of Shopian region of J&K, and eating food with them in broad daylight on the streets.

India scraps Article 370

The Narendra Modi government on August 5 revoked Article 370 which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Both the upper house and the lower house of the Parliament approved the resolution abrogating Article 370 for J&K and a bill to bifurcate the state into two union territories, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, with Home Minister Amit Shah saying the controversial provisions were responsible for poverty and lack of development in the state. Ministry of External Affairs also briefed the envoys of the P5 nations -- the US, the UK, China, France and Russia -- about Indian government's decision to scrap Article 370 and bifurcate the state into two union territories.
