In a bid to boost India's milk production, Union Animal Husbandry Minister Giriraj Singh on Sunday, stirred controversy while addressing a rally in Nagpur, claiming that the Centre will set up a cow factory. He further claimed that using 'technology superior to IVF' they will inject cows to produce milk. Touting India's milk revolution Singh pronounced that he will solve issues related to cows unable to give milk using embryo-transplant. He said that this would accelerate India's pathway to the global milk market.
"Within three years, we will ensure that no Vidarbha's youth who are involved in cattle-rearing will face issues with cows not producing milk. We will establish a cow factory which will produce cows. People will ask how is this possible. We will use technology superior to embryo-transplant. Those cows unable to give milk will be injected with an embryo through IVF of those cows which give 20-litre milk. We will bring about such a revolution that Indian milk will be priced the best compared to world milk prices," he said.
While he did not delve into details regarding the technology used, Giriraj Singh is no stranger to controversy. He had previously had slammed former Congress President Rahul Gandhi’s tweet slamming Pakistan. Giriraj Singh said that the former Congress chief's clarification is the equivalent of sticking a band-aid on a gunshot wound. He went on to put forth that grave harm has been caused to India by Gandhi's earlier statements. Rahul Gandhi had lashed out at Pakistan for citing his name and political views in a petition against India in the United Nation.

Prior to this, Singh had compared West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee to Kim Jong Un. He said that the countdown to the end of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's rule had begun. He stated that this was because she had been trying to suppress her political opponents with a ruthlessness comparable to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, according to him. Banerjee had time and again stopped BJP leaders from rallying in West Bengal. She had also attacked supporters chanting 'Jai Shri ram'.
"Ulti ginti (countdown) has begun for Mamata Banerjee. Fear of an imminent defeat has left her frustrated. The treatment she has been meting out to her political opponents remind us of King Jong-un.," the firebrand BJP leader alleged when asked about the running feud between his party and the Trinamool Congress headed by the West Bengal Chief Minister. She has said that she refuses to acknowledge Narendra Modi was the Prime Minister of India and has never attended meetings of the Niti Aayog where Chief Ministers of all states turn up," he added.
