BJP's brat MLA Akash Vijayvargiya was released from jail on Sunday, following his arrest for thrashing a Municipal Corporation officer with a cricket bat.
However, showing no remorse for his act, senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya's son was received with celebratory gunshots and was garlanded by his supporters five days after the bat attack.
Vijayvargiya brazenly stated that he has 'no regret' for the incident, trivialising the issue. He was charged under the sections IPC 353 147, 148.
He said, "Whatever happens, happens for good. the action taken by me was taken with full responsibility and no regret and I knew the repercussions of this action. These kind of humans take our public for granted. I will take Gandhiji's route and I hope this kind of action is not taken by me in future."
"My message to the youths is that you need to solve it with love. We won't tolerate crimes against women and people. I don't regret it," he added.
The BJP MLA further went on to tell the media about his 'first experience' in jail and was happy to be on bail. Furthermore, he said that his father, Kailash Vijayvargiya assured his support for him.
He said, "This was my first experience in jail and it was good. In jail, there is a protocol for MLA's and it was given the same protocol. But because I'm married now, a married man does not have the right to enjoy alone, so I was hoping to get bail. I am happy that I have come out on bail."
"He told me you have grown up now, you have to take your own decision. So think and take your decision, but I am with you," he added.
On Wednesday, the MLA was caught going after the civic official with a bat and thrashing him. He also hurled abuses at him. The civic officials were in the district to bring down an illegal structure when Akash entered the scene and began the assault. When the police, who initially kept mum, intervened, Akash continued to assault the civic official, and even others joined in.
Following the incident, he said to Republic TV, "Indore Municipal Corporation is behaving like gundas, they are in tie-up with Congress leaders. I am a leader chosen by the people. I will not back off from the attack. I have been voted by the people to serve them. I will do whatever it takes even if it means lifting a bat and stopping officials. I stand by my actions."
