Vandalism erupted in East Midnapore of West Bengal following Amit Shah's rally earlier on Tuesday. Pertaining to the incidence, BJP has alleged that TMC workers are responsible for his violence.
In visuals, it could be seen that public property was destroyed and the buses of BJP workers were stone pelted in an attempt to block the BJP rally.
Public properties, private bikes and buses were in flames as violence enraged.
During his rally, BJP president claimed that TMC is targetting BJP workers for opposing chief minister Mamata Banerjee's 'corrupt rule'
He said, "The TMC government is targeting BJP workers because we are against Mamata's corrupt governance. West Bengal has decided to go with Narendra Modi in 2014 and uproot the Mamata Banerjee government."
In a response to BJP's allegations, Mamata Banerjee's TMC in return attacked BJP accusing them of hiring goons and engineering the violence.
The party has also gone ahead to file a defamation suit against the BJP president.
TMC has repeatedly attempted to stop BJP's entry into the state, by either denying permission to hold a series of rallies in the state last and last week refusing to land Shah's helicopter in Malda district citing 'safety issues' and the TMC supremo further claimed to have changed the rules for her helicopter landings on the requests of West Bengal police, adding that the police is the final authority in the matter.
However, after facing the wrath of BJP leaders in the light of the controversial move, the West Bengal government later allowed the Amit Shah's helicopter landing at Malda airport.
