Captain Vikram Batra: Indians pay tribute to war Martyr on his b'day

Remembering the war hero, Indians have been paying tribute to the Kargil Martyr and PVC recipient, Captain Vikram Batra on his 45th birth anniversary.

Remembering the Kargil war hero, Indians have been paying tribute to the Kargil Martyr and Param Vir Chakra recipient, Captain Vikram Batra on his 45th birth anniversary. Captain Vikram Batra is known for his martyrdom during the Kargil war of 1999. He led one of the toughest mountain warfare operations in the Indian history and eliminated three enemy soldiers in close combat. Often referred to as the 'Sher Shah of Kargil' by his opponents, his company killed at least eight Pakistani intruders. Known for his famous line, after capturing 'Point 5140' during the war, Captain Batra sent a radio message stating words of his victory, 'Yeh Dil Maange More'. 

Indians Pay Tribute to the Kargil Martyr 

The birth anniversary of the war hero has fetched many proud Indians to come out and pay homage to the ‘Sher Shah’. Twitter Moments India remembered few of his motivating lines on his birth anniversary.

A Kargil war soldier, Major DP Singh also took to Twitter to wish Captain Vikram and his twin Vishal Batra on their birth anniversary.

UP 100, on the other hand, paid their tribute to Captain Vikram Batra in a unique style. They connected ISRO’s efforts to establish contact with Lander Vikram to Captain Vikram Batra’s famous last words, ‘Yeh Dil Maange More’.

Actor Siddharth Malhotra, who will be starring in the biopic of the PVC awardee Captain Vikram Batra, also took to Twitter to wish the war hero on his 45th birth anniversary.
