Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao on Thursday visited the Karivena reservoir Project, which is considered as the key reservoir under Palamur lift irrigation scheme. During his visit, Chandrashekhar Rao inspected the ongoing works through an aerial view. He also reviewed the progress of works with the officials, engineers and work agencies concerned. Karivena reservoir plays a major role under Palamur Ranga Reddy Lift Irrigation Project.
Inspecting the w ork at the reservoir, KCR told the workers to complete the work on a war footing and directed the Engineers and other officials to take up the work uninterruptedly in three shifts per day. KCR urged the construction work of the project to be completed at the earliest. Chandrashekhar Rao also said the Kaleswaram project works are almost completed and said that there is a need to increase the existing machinery for the completion of the project.

"Keep four and a half-month period as the target before the summer begins and all works have to be completed before the advent of the monsoon. By this time, farmers should get water in their fields. If you are unable to complete works as per the schedule, bring it to our notice. Don't allow anything to cause hindrance to the desired targets. By next monsoon, works should be completed and we must be able to give water for farmers," Telangana CM Chandrashekhar Rao said.
Ministers Sri Niranjan Reddy, Sri Srinivas Goud, MPs Sri Santosh Kumar Joginapalli, Sri Srinivas Reddy, Sri Ramulu, local MLA Sri Alla Venkateswar Reddy, Kodangal MLA Sri Narender Reddy and other public representatives, CMO Secretary, Ms. Smitha Sabharwal, Irrigation E-N-C Sri Muralidhar Rao, CE Sri Ramesh Kumar accompanied the KCR during the visit in Telangana.
Telangana CM inaugurates Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation project
Earlier in June, K Chandrashekhar Rao inaugurated the Kaleswaram Lift Irrigation project along with the world's biggest pumphouse at the Medigadda. He was accompanied by Governor ESL Narasimhan, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy during the visit to the pumphouse. The biggest pump house in the entire world is constructed at this place for this purpose. As part of Kaleshwaram Project, Package-8 works are taken up at Lakshmipur with 7 units having a total capacity of 139 MWs.
