Chandrayaan-2: This Choir’s Splendid Music To Play When India Lands

On the historic day when Chandrayaan-2's 'Vikram' lander will land on the moon, Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami spoke to the team of the Shillong Chamber Choir. The team of the Shillong Chamber Choir was accompanied by their Founder, Director and Conductor Padmashri Neil Nongkynrih at the occasion. During the LIVE Republic broadcast, the Shillong Chamber Choir performed their musical and melodious rendition of “Hum Honge Kamyaab” and "Sare Jahan Se Accha".

Members of the Choir team who joined Republic during the Live broadcast were: William, Banlam, Sandon, Ryan Riewbankit, Donna, Jessica, Patricia, Dorea, Rishila and Iba, along with their Founder, Director and Conductor Padmashri Neil Nongkynrih.

Celebrating India's entry in space with the soft landing of Chandrayaan 2 on the surface of the moon, Meghalaya's Shillong Chamber Choir will sing their soulful rendition of the Vande Mataram. The rendition of “Vande Mataram – I’m So Proud To Be an Indian”, has been written and composed by founder and composer of the Choir Neil Nongkynrih. The members of the choir will perform the rendition of 'Vande Mataram' as Chandrayaan-2 will make the soft-landing on the moon.

Speaking to about his rendition of the 'Vande Mataram', Padmashri Neil Nongkynrih said that he has written the lyrics of the song by his own experience of the country. He asserted that the Chandrayaan's landing is a proud moment for India. 

"It is a proud moment of all of us. I am very proud to be an India. It is my own lyrics from my heart, from my own experience of this lovely country. We must be thankful for what we have, then only we can proceed to challenges," said Neil Nongkynrih.
