Chhattisgarh CM to inaugrate the Urban Health Yojana Scheme

Government of Chhattisgarh has decided to start the mobile medical team visits in Urban slums after receiving favorable results from the remote villages

Reportedly, the Government of Chhattisgarh has decided to start the mobile medical team visits in urban slums after receiving favourable results from the service in haat-bazaars of remote villages and forest areas.
As per sources- 

"Mobile Medical Teams will be available in slum areas of 13 municipal corporations of the state once a week from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm to provide health check-up and medical treatment facility. The mobile medical unit will also provide necessary medicines to the beneficiaries free of cost."

Urban Slum Health Yojana Scheme

Chief Minister Urban Slum Health Yojana scheme will be inaugurated on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, by CM Bhupesh Baghel. All the arrangements for the inauguration have been made in advance and the District collectors have been asked to take care of the same.

"To provide a more effective healthcare system for nearly seven lakh 80 thousand people, the state government has decided to provide services of the mobile medical team in slum areas, along with the existing healthcare schemes," said an official statement.

13 Municipal Corporation areas of the state nearly accommodate 1.71 lakh families of the slum. Under the Urban slum Health  Yojana scheme, three teams for Raipur Municipal Corporation, two teams each for Bhilai and Korba and one Medical team each for the Municipal Corporation will be formed. Bhupesh Baghel, CM of Chhattisgarh has also asked the concerned officials have huge publicity of this scheme by checking the participation of local public representatives, NGO's and representatives of social-religious organizations. There was a scheme launched earlier by the CM,  to provide medical facilities to the tribals living in the forest regions of the state.

Recent healthcare schemes by the Government

Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) was the universal health coverage scheme that aimed at providing health insurance to almost 10.74 crore households in the country and was launched on September 23, 2018, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Most of the Indian States had shown interest in adopting the scheme.

 Similarly, Aarogyasri in Telangana is a highly evolved scheme. This scheme initially covered only 7-8 lakh families but now covers nearly 80 lakh. The state-run health institutions too started recording a jump in outpatient and inpatient inflow. The Telangana government also introduced exclusive schemes like Employee Health Insurance Scheme for State government employees, Journalists Health Scheme, health cover for employees of Singareni
