Ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's health condition is 'extremely critical', his office tweeted on Sunday evening. 

Parrikar, 63, is suffering from a serious pancreatic ailment, and is currently at his private residence at Dona Paula, in Goa. 

"Chief Minister @manoharparrikar's health condition is extremely critical. Doctors are trying their best," the Goa CMO tweeted.

Parrikar had resumed work back in December and told that he was battling a 'life-threatening disease'

The chief minister presented the state budget in Goa Assembly on January 30 this year.

Parrikar has had an illustrious political career, he has been serving as the chief minister of Goa since March 2017 and previous to that served as the chief minister from 2000-2005 and from 2012 to 2014.

The former Rajya Sabha MP from Uttar Pradesh, in the Modi government also served as the Defence Minister from 2014-2017.
