On Saturday, over 3500 seers, joined by Sri Sri Ravishankar, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, a number of BJP leaders and other Hindu groups, held a meeting at the Talkatora stadium in New Delhi seeking an ordinance to be brought as soon as possible on the construction of Ram Mandir.

The onus was put on the BJP government-led Centre to come up with a quick resolution for Lord Ram's temple to be built in Ayodhya in the wake of Supreme Court's recent order on this matter in October.

After the meeting, a number of individuals spoke in favor of bringing an ordinance to settle this matter. Vishwa Hindu Parishad's acting president Alok Kumar urged the Centre to construct a law on the floor of the house for the construction of the temple. He said,

"We have requested the central govt to make law and constructed the Ram Mandir as soon as possible. SC will not be over ruled. but it is in the hands of parliaments to bring ordinance. so it is advisable to pass the ordinance. If not then the sant community will acknowledge the further course of action."

Ram Madhav, the National General Secretary of BJP, also stated that ordinance is a possibility while mentioning that the recent order by Supreme Court meant the judicial system failed again.

"It’s a repeat of history and it is very sad that the judicial system has failed. The Judicial process is moving on and that has created a fuss among the supporters of Ram Mandir. Last Chief justice said by October 29 the decision process of the Supreme Court will be started. But then again, the new CJI has delayed by several months. And because of this, there is an anxiety among the supporters. Ordinance is a way but I think the Supreme Court has its own concern," he added.

Ram Vilas Vedanti, MP from Pratapgarh, was very vocal in his demand for Ram temple to be created at the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. He said,

"At Ayodha only Ram Mandir will be constructed. We will construct the Temple and we will eliminate Congress from India. We want peace and harmony in the nation. So for that, we will construct the mandir and in future also we will make sure that there are no more masjid constructed in place of temple ever. Babar did not take the permission of Supreme court so why shall we wait. Just like it was demolished, it will be constructed back again."

The apex court on October 29 had adjourned the matter and ordered it to be listed in the first week of January for fixing a date for hearing. Following that, there was a huge outcry by Hindu groups demanding an ordinance to brought for Ram Mandir. Some Hindu groups even went onto say that should there be no quick hearing on this matter, a repeat of 1992-like situation was a possibility.
