In a breaking development, Republic TV has accessed clincher in the Assam mass molestation in which over 40 women belonging to a dance troupe were harassed, threatened and molested by an alleged mob of men in Assam's Chaygaon area near Guwahati.
The incident took place on June 7, wherein the women from the Rainbow Dance Troupe were invited to perform Bihu dance at a cultural event in Asolpara in Chaygaon. However when they reached the event venue, they were molested by men in public view. As per inputs, mob consisted of 700-800 men during the incident.
In the visuals, accessed by Republic TV, a large number of men can be seen facing the stage where the girls were allegedly forced to dance. The video shows two of the men recording the dance on their mobile phone as soon as the music starts. However, later another man stops one of the man from recording the incident by snatching away the mobile from his hands.
Furthermore, they can be heard asking the girls to dance, dance nude to the song on the stage in front of the mob of men to the song being played in the background.

Recounting the shocking incident, the victims said that they were tricked and invited to the event and upon reaching the venue they were molested and forced to strip dance in front of the men.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken cognisance of the incident and has taken up the matter with the Assam Police.
Huge protests were been carried out by people on the streets in Boko, Assam in protest of the molestation of the female dancers in the state.
