While calling for disengagement with Pakistan on all matters following the recent barbaric acts in Kashmir, senior Congress leader Manish Tewari has questioned the cricketing action taking place between the two countries in the ongoing Asia Cup 2018.

The former Union minister posted a message on Twitter, which read, "We called of FM level talks as Pakistani BAT’s mutilated  body of BSF’s Narendra Kumar & Pak. Terrorists abducted & killed 03 policemen in Shopian. How does playing Cricket honour their sacrifice? If we do not want to engage with Pak then disengagement should be across the board"

In another tweet, he added, "We will not hold FM level talks. We will not invite Chef’s from Pakistan but we will play cricket with Pakistan? Why?Ask bookies, gamblers, match fixers &money launderers who use Cricket betting as smokescreen for their activities. Warped sense of discretion we have. @Smita_Sharma"

Both the nations' cricket teams played each other on September 19, before taking on each other on September 23 in UAE. The action on the field, though, comes at a time when Pakistan terrorists committed barbaric acts in Kashmir, which included killing of three J&K policemen and a brutal murder of a BSF jawan.

Following these heinous crimes, the Indian government called off the proposed meet between the countries at UNGA, stating 'any conversation with Pakistan in such an environment would be meaningless'.
