The Congress on Friday released the party's manifesto ahead of the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh in the presence of the senior leaders Digvijaya Singh, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Kamal Nath. While Congress has promised to reduce electricity bill for farmers by 50% and to open 'Gaushalas' in every Gram Panchayat among other things, the party has also promised in its manifesto that RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) shakhas will not be allowed in any government buildings and premises, if the party comes into power.

“If Congress is voted to power in Madhya Pradesh, RSS shakhas would not be allowed in government. An earlier order that allowed the government official to attend the RSS event will also be removed,” - This is mentioned on the page 80, in point number 40 of Congress’ election manifesto titled as "Vachan Patra" (document of promises).

In an earlier incident, when Chief Minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh came into power in 2006, the state government revoked the Congress government's order that restrained the government officials from attending RSS events.

On Friday, state Congress chief Kamal Nath described the 112-page manifesto as the "voice of the people of Madhya Pradesh", asserting that it was prepared after discussions with every section of the society.

While Congress has planned remove RSS shakhas from government offices, Ratan Sharda, author of ‘Secrets of RSS’, called Congress's strategy 'a sign of hatred', while speaking in the matter:

"They hate such organisation(RSS) because they themselves are so disastrous and they have destructive kind of mentality. It will not hurt RSS because RSS will keep on working for people. It never took help from government and never worried if government employee will join RSS or not. So, there they have shown their hatred. Five generations have gone trying to supress the RSS, but they have not succeeded. It is just a sign of hatred and nothing else," said Ratan Sharda speaking to Republic TV.

Meanwhile, Congress party unveiled its fifth list for the November polls in Madhya Pradesh on November 8 which included the name of former Union minister and long-serving leader of Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP), Sartaj Singh.
