Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday, October 12 slammed the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led state government and claimed that the law and order situation in Bihar has worsened under the latter's regime.

Tejashwi further underscored that the situation is such in Bihar, that even the police personnel in the state are not safe. The RJD leader made these remarks while reacting to the reports of a policeman being killed at the hands of goons on late Friday night in Khagaria district.

Speaking to ANI, Yadav said, "There is complete lawlessness in Bihar and situation is becoming worse with time. There was a time when only people used to be afraid but now even administration and police personnel are afraid. Crime is continuously increasing and there is no action from the CM. The Chief Minister stays mum and deputy Chief Minister is pleading with the criminals. Crime graph has increased tremendously in the state. The law and order of the state have been left to God's will."

While answering questions on the formation of a grand alliance for 2019 general elections, Yadav said, "Everyone is meeting each other and talks are ongoing but no last decision has been taken yet. Senior leaders are busy in assembly polls in Madhya Pradesh and other states, so maybe a decision on it can be taken after it. I can only say that the public is now fed-up of the current government."

He also spoke about the ongoing #MeToo campaign and asserted that women should speak out and should not hesitate in reaching out to the police.

He said, "When there was an allegation on us, BJP demanded an immediate resignation and some people's inner-soul woke up. Now when it is their turn they are protecting the culprits. It only reveals their double standards which have now come in front of the public. However, a lot of people have been accused in MeToo campaign and I think that when these incidents actually happened at that time they should have complained. I believe even now there are legal options available and they can take a legal course. Also in this atmosphere, the main issues such as Rafale and high inflation are not getting the deserved space. I only want to say that whosoever has a complaint must get it registered.''
