The CRPF Madadgaar team has been providing assistance throughout Jammu and Kashmir, and they have handled over 34000 incoming and outgoing calls, since August 5, helping the citizens across the state in times of crisis. The Kashmiri citizens have come forward to thank the CRPF Madadgaar Team for all their help.
The majority of the calls handled by the Team were related to people enquiring about the wellbeing of their family and relatives living in Kashmir and about the situation in general. Out of these calls, more than 1200 cases were exigencies. In these cases, the CRPF personnel personally went to the house of the person to facilitate communication between the caller and the family.
In some cases, substantial help was sought by the callers, such as facilitating the delivery of air tickets to family members in Kashmir, informing them about changes in date of interviews or exams to Kashmiri students who were studying outside but had come back home, or informing their family in Kashmir about any other emergency.
CRPF personnel also provided essential food items to the needy in different areas in Kashmir. Many poor patients and patients suffering from life-threatening diseases such as Chronic Kidney disease or transplant, cancer, diabetes, or patients who had undergone organ transplants and needed expensive lifesaving medication were also helped by CRPF Madadgaar on a regular basis. Since 5th August, the CRPF Madadgaar Team has provided medicines to 123 such patients and the medicines have been delivered to their homes by CRPF Personnel.
This is not the first time the CRPF have swung into action to help civilians. In a video shared by ANI in July, CRPF personnel were seen risking their lives to save a 14-year-old Kashmiri girl who was being washed away by the strong currents of a river.
