Delhi BIS Report: Arvind Kejriwal's "Missing" posters spotted in many areas

After the BIS report on clean drinking water was released by Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday, November 16, a water war has struck Delhi. In a new political development, the national capital woke up to the “missing” posters slamming the chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal for his inactive presence in the scene. This comes after the BIS report claimed that Delhi falls under the worst category of drinking water supply whereas, its counterpart, the financial capital of India, Mumbai has the best quality of water. 

Posters slamming Arvind Kejriwal 

Posters attacking Arvind Kejriwal surfaced just a few days after the NCR saw BJP MP Gautam Gambhir’s posters slamming him from missing the meeting on air pollution. The posters targeting Arvind Kejriwal read “Missing” in the top. The bottom bands and the footers in the poster read “Have you seen the President of Delhi Jal Board, Arvind Kejriwal?” “After a survey was conducted in 20 cities of India, Delhi’s water was ruled out to be the most poisonous,” added the footer in the poster.

War of word between the Centre and AAP 

The BJP MP from AAP, Sanjay Singh in a recent statement said that “He (Ram Vilas Paswan) is spreading rumours and just false things. He should not lie to the whole nation. He just took the samples of 11 places for releasing the report”.

On the other hand, the Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Ram Vilas Paswan has challenged Kejriwal to name officials for making a team that can go out with BIS officials and collect the samples from anywhere they wanted to. Paswan said, “Let them go to any area, pick samples and get them tested from any lab. I challenge Kejriwal to name his officials by today evening or tomorrow or day after”.

Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal, in a press conference, rejected the report prepared by the Bureau of Indian Standardisation (BIS) as "false and politically motivated". The spokesperson of AAP, Saurabh Bharadwaj, also made a statement after the release of the report and said that "We Challenge the BJP's Central government and its Minister Mr Ram Vilas Paswan to pick water samples from Delhi and cities ruled by BJP in our presence and send it for audit to a neutral agency”. Saurabh Bharadwaj further accused the BJP government of doing low-level politics on water quality after they failed to control air pollution.
