The Delhi Police and the excise department busted a rave party happening at a farmhouse in Mehrauli in the National Capital late at night on June 9. During the raid, the police seized large stacks of drugs, and detained 16 people.
According to the officials. around 600 people were present at the party as per the guest list. However, only 16 of them were detained by the police. While the police said that those detained are the organisers of the event hosting the rave party, no confirmation has been received yet.
Rave parties have been a common occurrence in the National Capital over the past couple of months. On May 5, around 161 men and 31 women were arrested from a rave party being held illegally at a farmhouse in Noida. The accused were held late at night from Sector 135 where alcohol and other intoxicants were being served illegally. Around 31 hookahs, 112 beer bottles, 30 liquor bottles were also seized from the farmhouse.
The arrests were made after a team-led by SSP Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police (Gautam Buddh Nagar) received a tip-off about a rave party being held in Noida's Sector 135 which led to the arrest of five of the key organisers of the event.
“We had got information about such a rave party being conducted at a farmhouse here after which 161 men and 31 women were nabbed from the spot,” said Vaibhav Krishna, Senior Superintendent of Police.
Many arrested in the case were mainly college going students and working people.The organisers charged Rs 10,000 from the boys who attended the party and it was free of cost for girls who according to sources were also brought in to entertain the attendees at rave party.
While the city of Delhi continues to be rampaged by the onslaught of rave parties, investigation into the case is still underway.
