BJP MP Manoj Tiwari on Friday backed Gautam Gambhir after he was criticised heavily for allegedly missing a meeting regarding air pollution in Delhi and was instead witnessed at the India-Bangladesh Test match in Indore. Manoj Tiwari slammed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and said that for five years you have not done anything and you expect Gautam Gambhir to curb pollution in one day. Tiwari said that, after the elections in Delhi which are just four months away, BJP will come to power and curb air pollution in the national capital in just 2.5 years. Manoj Tiwari also said that Gautam Gambhir could not attend the meeting due to a marriage in his family which has kept him busy.
Manoj Tiwari on Friday said, "Arvind Kejriwal is trying to hide his mistakes, but he will not be able to. If the MLAs are responsible for Delhi, then why don't you (Kejriwal) quit? The MLAs will handle everything. Since 5 years, Arvind Kejriwal has not done anything and in just one day Gautam Gambhir will curb pollution? Let us come in power. In just 4 months, BJP will come to power in Delhi and we will curb pollution in the city in just 2.5 years. BJP helped make the periphery road to eliminate 15 lakh vehicles on the road. BJP has brought in 100 crores from the central government to eliminate litter. BJP has put an end to congestion. What has Arvind Kejriwal done? The people of Delhi are going to give a befitting reply to Kejriwal."
Cricketer-turned politician Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter on Friday to slam critics after he skipped a meeting regarding the rising pollution in Delhi. Gambhir highlighted his achievements and also mentioned what all he intended to do in the next 4.5 years of his tenure, in his twitter post. This comes after the former Indian cricketer and commentator VVS Laxman had earlier shared pictures with Gautam Gambhir as the duo are seen eating 'pohe and jalebi' during the match. The AAP took to Twitter to take a dig at Gautam Gambhir, who has been very vocal about the rising pollution levels in the country's capital and challenged Gautam Gambhir to stop playing the blame game and attend the meetings. Further, the AAP alleged that strict action should be taken on all the absentees as it amounts to contempt of court.
