Dissecting The Prime Minister's Fitness Challenge Video: Here's Everything He Does And Where He Does It

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday responded to the fitness challenge that had been issued to him by Team India skipper Virat Kohli, and by all means, it was worth the wait! 

Over the course of an almost 2-minute video, the Prime Minister showcased how he keeps himself fit. That the Prime Minister is a daily practitioner of Yoga is well known, but specifics of his regimen, as well as the other exercises in which he partakes, have now been revealed.

The video begins in the picturesque lawn of his official residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

The Prime Minister's work-out outfit appears to be set of matching black shirt and loose three-fourth pants. The first exercise is the PM walking forwards and then back taking wide steps with his hands raised high and later, in a namaskar position. The landscaping appears to assist him in this exercise.

Next, he makes use of a large rock in the garden to perform a set of leg and back stretches. The leg stretch is fairly simple but for the back and shoulders, he lies flat on the back, using its curve to stretch his back and stretches to his full length.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of his regimen is a walk he takes around a tree. His track, however, is no ordinary path. As per the PM's tweet, it is inspired by the Panchtatvas, or five elements of nature -- Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Wind) and Aakash (Sky).

First, PM Modi can be seen walking on the pebbled surface on the inside of the track with a stick in hand for form. Then he moves to the main track. The circle is split into a number of sections -- there's one that's filled with water, followed by a wooden section to dry off. Then there are a number of sand-fill sections and one filled with small white pebbles. There are also two sections of regular 'Earth', one with grass, one without.

The Prime Minister also then takes a balancing walk on the outside edge of the track, performs some breathing exercises before the meditating Buddha statue and then cools-down by sitting on the versatile rock.
