Durga Puja: Elderly couple click selfies while Pandal-hopping

An elderly couple photograph of holding hands and clicking selfie together during Durga Puja has gone viral. The photographs have been liked over 8,500 times

Durga Puja is a festival where good triumphs over evil, the biggest highlight of this festival for some, however, is pandal hopping, wherein you get to see various beautifully decorated pandals all decorated around a theme. Even though the festival is now over, social media platforms are still bursting with various pictures of the beautifully decorated pandals. But there is an image that speaks more than all combined, it is a photo shared on Facebook by Anjan Banerjee. This particular photograph is warming the heart of netizens all across, in the photograph the elderly couple can be seen holding hands and clicking a selfie.

'Asche Bochor Abar Hobe' (till next year)

Durga Pooja in Bengal is one of the biggest celebrations in the country. One cannot imagine Kolkata without Durga Pooja and nothing can compare to Durga Pooja Celebrations in Kolkata. The eighth day of Navaratri or Durga Puja is celebrated as Durga Ashtami. It is a Hindu festival that is celebrated to mark the victory of good over evil. People offer prayers at temples of Goddess Durga, prepare feasts and fly kites during the festival. Devotees also listen to traditional music and religious songs with the festivities of Durga Puja coming to an end on Tuesday, October 8, with people in Kolkata queuing up near river banks and lakes for the immersion of Goddess Durga's idols. Devotees chanted 'Asche Bochor Abar Hobe' (till next year) while bidding its adieu to Goddess Durga and the festival. According to reports, over 1,000 idols were to be immersed at various ghats of the Ganges. To help lift and extricate the remains of idols, heavy cranes were seen during the immersion process.
