Encounter between Forces and Terrorists enters its second day in Mujgund, J&K

An encounter between terrorists and the security forces, which began on Saturday on the outskirts of Srinagar, entered into the second day on Sunday

Update at 11:33 am: Three dead bodies have been recovered. Yet  to be identified. Operations are over.

Update at 10:06 am: Five security personnel have been injured in the encounter which is underway since yesterday. No bodies of terrorists have been found yet. The operation is underway.

An encounter between terrorists and the security forces, which began on Saturday on the outskirts of Srinagar, entered into the second day on Sunday. A cordon-and-search operation was launched near the Srinagar-Bandipora road in Mujgund area on Saturday evening. The encounter had ensued after a forces' party was fired upon by some terrorists, a police officer said.

The gunfight resumed on Sunday morning and the operation to flush out the terrorists is on, the officer said. He said while the firing was stopped for the night, the forces had cordoned of the area to stop the terrorists from escaping. Authorities have suspended mobile Internet services in the city as a precautionary measure, the official added.
