11 days after her death, Anissia Batra’s father Major General Batra spoke to Republic TV’s Editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami and made damning allegations against Anissia’s husband Mayank Singhvi. Major General Batra, while speaking exclusively to Republic TV said, “Mayank killed her”.
“Mayank has killed her. And, the circumstantial evidence will also show at a later stage that he kept her inside, and around 4:15 pm, because he had access to her phone he sent out messages. And the message was sent in such a con-y way, because he was a great con artist. Where, he put his own name in it to make it look like she is going to kill herself and he will only become an abettor to it (sic),” said Major General Batra.
Anissia’s father also levelled another set of stunning charges at Mayank Singhvi, saying, the last messages sent out from Anissia’s phone were actually written by Mayank.
“It is Mayank who has written this. And it’s been sent to three people to make it look very genuine. One to Anissia's lawyer, whom we had contacted, and we were discussing her divorce case. Aman hingorani. The second was to Anissia's friend whom she had been talking to a little while earlier, and one to Mayank. Now, if she was in a state of mind and all that, why didn't she tell us? She could have also told me, dad i am going,” alleged Major General Batra.
When Major General Batra was asked whether he believes that series of messages sent at 2.56 pm, especially the message that says “I am going to kill myself today” was written by Mayank, he said, “Yes, he had killed her before that.”
“You see, ater 2:56 there has been no message sent by Anissia,” he added.
Major General Batra also alleged that Mayank killed her by breaking her neck and then to make it look like a suicide, he pushed her off the terrace.
“Her neck was found broken. And he's probably done that, in a fit of rage. And between 3 o clock and 4:15, he kept her inside the room. Looked for an opportune moment, took her on top. And, before throwing her down, he has sent those messages, or WhatsApp messages. The reason why I am saying this is because not a drop of blood has been found at the place where she fell or on her body, because the blood had already coagulated. Otherwise, if somebody jumps from the fourth floor and falls down on a concrete surface, you think there will be no blood?, he said.
Major General Batra also pointed out at the fact that even though Anissia’s cell-phone was found on her, there was not even a scratch on it - which is bizarre as Anissia had a fall.
“The cellphone. Now, that is another amazing thing. The cellphone has been discovered on herself. And, it is totally intact, not a scratch on it,” said Anissia’s father.
He also alleged that Mayank thrown Anissia’s “body from top” and then “came down and slipped the phone into her pocket.”
The deceased, Anissia Batra, an air hostess with a German airlines found dead inside premises of her residential building on July 13. She was rushed to Max hospital by her husband Mayank Singhvi where she was declared brought dead.
While the narrative has been that she committed suicide and the Delhi police is presently probing it as a dowry death case, Anissia’s family has alleged foul play from the start.
