Addressing Gharib Nawaz Chairman Ansar Raza, Patanjali founder and Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev on Monday asked him to rise above religion and realize the problems of overpopulation before commenting against his (Ramdev) idea to counter it, in conversation with Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on his debate - 'Poochta hai Bharat'.

"If more kids are born, we do not have adequate schools, colleges, hospitals. Just think where will we be able to get food for these children? Rise above your Quran and religion. It is not written anywhere in the Quran either that one should have more children. It is written in the Quran that one should live life honestly serving the nation. What kind of unnecessary things are you getting tangled in Ansar Raza Saab?" he asked.

Earlier on Sunday, the Patanjali founder had claimed that by introducing a law that the third child would not be allowed to vote nor contest an election, neither be given any type of privileges and government facilities, India's population may come under control.

"India's population should not be more than 150 crores in the next 50 years as we are not prepared or ready to bear more than that. This is only possible when the government makes a law that third child would not be allowed to vote, neither contest election nor he/she enjoys any type of privileges and facilities given by the government," he said at a press conference in Haridwar, Uttarakhand according to ANI.

In the press conference, he had also demanded a complete ban on slaughter of cows, citing there were other available meat forms too.

"There should be a complete ban on cow slaughter and it is the only way out to end the conflict that we see between cow smugglers and 'gau rakshak'. For those who want to eat meat, there are several other types of meat which they can eat," he said.

He had also demanded a ban on liquor in the entire nation giving examples of Islamic countries.

"In Islamic countries, liquor is banned. If in Islamic countries it can be banned then why not in India? This is the land of sages. There should be a complete ban on liquor in India," he added.
