Explosion Near Indian Army Base Camp In Poonch District Of Jammu-Kashmir, No Casualties Reported

An unexpected explosion has been reported near an army base camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch area, along the Line of Control (LoC)

Update at 1:35 PM: All educational institutions have been shut down by the authorities, following the blast in area surrounding Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch, as Pakistan violates Ceasefire along the LoC in Poonch district, on Tuesday morning. 

Update at 12:43 PM: SSP, Poonch, Rajiv Pandey gave a statement to news agency ANI, stating that, a shell landed from across the border, causing damage to the shed. Because of the attack, there was fire and subsequent smoke in the region. He further stated that investigation is going on and the Indian Army is trying to ascertain the nature of the blast.

An unexpected explosion has been reported near an army base camp in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch area, along the Line of Control (LoC). While sources have stated that the blast took place at a non-inflammable store in the Indian army base camp in Poonch on Tuesday morning, no visible damage has been reported from the site.

Furthermore, the intensity of the blast is yet to be ascertained by the Indian Army officials, but they are taking all the necessary precautions to ensure safety in the area. The ources have also revealed that no casualties have been reported from the explosion site. While the motive of the explosion is yet to confirmed by the Indian Army, things are under control in the Poonch area.

Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has called for a review meeting on Tuesday, in Srinagar's Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre. He is going to interact with the political leaders and discuss the security situation, prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly in Kashmir Valley and around the border, during the meeting. Besides, chairing a high-level security review meeting, the Home Minister would also be interacting with some political delegations. Later, he will also meet Governor Satyapal Malik at the Raj Bhavan, during the day-long meeting in Srinagar.

Indian Army soldiers have been bravely guarding the Line of Control at the Poonch district. Earlier on September 30, a Pakistan Army chopper violated India's airspace, when it entered into Gulpur sector in Poonch district. The helicopter crossed the LoC after which the Indian army fired at it. While it managed to escape, the Indian Army retaliated again and foiled its attempt to enter the territory.
