As the death toll continues to rise over 160 in Kerala, several have begun to raise money for all those stranded due to the floods. With heavy rains pouring down, the centre launched a massive rescue and relief operation in Kerala as thousands stranded in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Alappuzha districts are without food, medicines and shelter. Several citizens, including a massive number of sick and aged women and children, are reportedly trapped on the rooftops, upper floors of houses, apartments and hospitals for almost three days now.

In a bid to raise awareness of the Chief Minister's rescue operation, several Bollywood actors/actresses took to their official social media handles to share details of the 'Distress Relief Fund'. Actor Arjun Kapoor wrote, "Please help the people who have been affected by the floods in Kerala. Spread the word! #KeralaFloods #StandWithKerala @CMOKerala"

The state really needs our help and every donation, no matter how big or small, will count. Here are some details of how to donate to @CMOKerala’s distress relief fund and other helpline numbers 🙏"

Farhan Akhtar shared a heartfelt message on his official Twitter handle. The writer/director/actor/producer wrote, "Thoughts with the people of #Kerala. Here’s hoping that rescue teams, medical aid and food relief can reach all those in need".
