Faizabad District Will Now Be Known As Sri Ayodhya, Announces Yogi Adityanath At Ayodhya Diwali Celebrations

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Faizabad district in which Ayodhya is situated will henceforth be known as "Sri Ayodhya" -- the first of four announcements he made in his highly-anticipated speech at the Diwali celebrations at the holy city.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the Faizabad district in which Ayodhya is situated will henceforth be known as "Sri Ayodhya" -- the first of four announcements he made in his highly-anticipated speech at the Diwali celebrations at the holy city.

The Ayodhya Diwali celebrations were served on a platter of traditions, including the presence of an elite guest- the first lady of South Korea Kim Jung-sook, and also very much in the political spotlight, with the Ram Mandir issue taking centrestage.

“We are here in Ayodhya to connect with our past and the first lady of South Korea too, is here to be a part of that past. I’d like to welcome everybody, wish you all a very happy Diwali and I would like to announce that from now onwards, this district (Faizabad) would be recognised as Ayodhya.”

At the birthplace of Ram, CM Yogi Adityanath made this huge announcement commemorating the festivities.  Further emphasizing on the relevance, significance and sheer essence of the location. 

“Ayodhya is the symbol of our honour, prestige and pride! The global celebration of Diwali that we witness, the crux of it is here in Ayodhya.”

The grand ceremony called 'Deepotsav' celebrated on Tuesday during 'choti Diwali' has important international and national figures in attendance. Apart from the UP chief minister,  a sizeable representation of his cabinet, as well as UP Governor Ram Naik and Bihar Governor Lalji Tandon were present.
