A fire broke out at Big Bazar supermarket in Mumbai's Mahim on Monday.

A fire broke out at Big Bazar supermarket in Mumbai's Mahim on Monday. As per the initial inputs, it a major fire as 8 fire tenders have been rushed at the spot.

Earlier on April 22, 2019, a fire broke out at Crawford Market in Mumbai. As per initial information, four 4 fire tenders have been rushed to the spot. 

The fire had broken out before opening hours in the otherwise busy market which minimised the risk to life. It also suspected, however, that a large number of goods were destroyed in the part of the building where the fire broke out.

The fire department has categorised it as a level 2 fire. It has provided an update saying that the first call intimating it about the fire had been received at 17:12, and the first responders had arrived there just four minutes later.

The fire is confined to the ground floor of the building which is occupied by a Big Bazaar outlet. Dense smoke has accompanied the fire.

As per inputs, the fire has been brought under control. Cooling operations are in progress. There are no reports of loss of life at the time of posting this update.
