Five Congress MLAs from Karnataka camping in Mumbai on the edge, not convinced by Cong assurances: Sources

Five Congress MLAs from Karnataka who are camping in Mumbai are on the verge to decide about their fate about staying in the party or joining the BJP, say sources. Mahesh Kumutahalli,  Nagendra, Umesh Yadav, Kampli Ganesh, Ramesh Jarkiholi are the Congress MLAs who are likely to decide on quitting the party, say sources.

Five Congress MLAs from Karnataka who are camping in Mumbai are on the verge to decide about their fate about staying in the party or joining the BJP, say sources. Mahesh Kumutahalli,  Nagendra, Umesh Yadav, Kampli Ganesh, Ramesh Jarkiholi are the Congress MLAs who are likely to decide on quitting the party, say sources.

Sources also say that the rebellion in the Congress is being led by Ramesh Jarkiholi

Sources have also said that since there were no assurances from their party, they could decide on Wednesday about quitting the Congress and moving to BJP. 

Sources say that the negotiations have not gone as per the Congress' plan. 

Since Monday, the MLAs have been staying in Mumbai.

Sources had told Republic TV that BJP will be sending party leaders including B S Yeddyurappa, K S Eshwarappa and Jagadish Shettar to meet the Congress MLAs in Karnataka and bring them to a 5-star resort in Haryana's Gurugram area, where Karnataka BJP leaders have been alleged kept in hidden by the party until further information in an attempt to shield them from 'poaching' allegations.

Earlier on Tuesday, Independent MLA H Nagesh and R Shankar addressed the media in Mumbai and withdrew support to Congress-JD(S) coalition.  After that Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda have said that they are assured about the coalition staying intact.

While addressing the media, MLA R Shankar Said: "For many years I have represented the people of my constituency. I have decided to withdraw my support. I will ensure that I fulfil the needs of the people of Karnataka and therefore I have taken this decision. This is a government of lies and are not serving the people of the state. Hence, I have taken the decision".

H Nagesh, Independent MLA said:

"My support to coalition govt was to provide good&stable govt which utterly failed. There's is no understanding among coalition partners. So, I decided to go with BJP to install a stable government and see that government performs better than the coalition".
