Earlier on Tuesday, Independent MLA H Nagesh and R Shankar addressed the media in Mumbai and withdrew support to Congress-JD(S) coalition.  After that Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy and JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda have said that they are assured about the coalition staying intact.

While addressing the media, MLA R Shankar Said: "For many years I have represented the people of my constituency. I have decided to withdraw my support. I will ensure that I fulfil the needs of the people of Karnataka and therefore I have taken this decision. This is a government of lies and are not serving the people of the state. Hence, I have taken the decision".

H Nagesh, Independent MLA said:

"My support to coalition govt was to provide good&stable govt which utterly failed. There's is no understanding among coalition partners. So, I decided to go with BJP to install a stable government and see that government performs better than the coalition".
