Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, and the Gandhi siblings, Rahul, Priyanka mourned the loss of veteran Congress leader Sheila Dikshit, who passed away of cardiac arrest on Saturday afternoon. 

In a tweet, Rahul Gandhi shared that he was 'devastated' to hear about the passing of the former chief minister of Delhi. Calling her a 'beloved daughter of the Congress party', the former Congres president spoke about the personal bond he shared with Dikshit.

Along with Rahul, the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh shared that he was shocked to hear the sudden passing of Dikshit. He further said that the country has lost a 'dedicated Congress leader' and that Delhi will always remember her contributions.

He said, "I'm shocked to hear the sudden passing away of Smt Sheila Dixit. In her death, the country has lost a dedicated Congress leader of the masses. People of Delhi will always remember her contribution to Delhi's development during her tenure as CM for 3 terms."

Uttar Pradesh East Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi shared how they were fond of each other.

She said, "Sheila ji used to love me to a lot, and so did. She always met me with a lot of love and hugs. What she has done for Delhi and the country, the country will always remember it. She worked for the development of Delhi. She was a senior Congress leader and her contribution to the party and country will always be remembered." 

Former President Pranab Mukherjee mourned the loss of his 'long-time friend' and colleague, Sheila Dikshit. 

The veteran politician, apart from her contributions to transforming the face of Delhi, will be remembered as the longest-serving woman Chief Minister of Delhi who served the national capital for 15 years from 1998 to 2013.
