Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav on Saturday has blamed the BJP for the murder of a second police personnel in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking about the incident, he said,

"The law and order system was not as bad as it is under this government. The Ghazipur incident happened because of the language of the UP CM, he only says 'thok do'. Neither the police nor the people understand whom to shoot. Once a police officer realises he is being transferred he does an encounter and comes to retain his old posting. This has happened because of the thoko neeti...

There was never so much hate as it used to be in this government. The crime started happening because of hate promoted by BJP. Law and order issues, kidnappings, rapes have doubled. Crimes like kidnappings, rape etc have doubled. This government is not running on their own. This government is run by the RSS," he said.

A police constable in Uttar Pradesh's Ghazipur died on Saturday after he was hit by a group of stone pelting mob. The policeman killed in Ghazipur has been identified as constable Suresh Vats. The incident took place few hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in the Uttar Pradesh. Eleven people have been held in connection with the case. Taking cognizance of the unfortunate death of constable Suresh Vats UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced Rs 40 lakh compensation for the wife of the deceased.

The constable was returning when the incident happened. The stone pelting was carried out by workers of Rashtriya Nishad Party who were demanding reservation for their community.

This is the second time when a policeman has been killed in cold blood in Uttar Pradesh. Recently, Subodh Kumar Singh lost his life in the mob violence in Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh. Post Mortem report had confirmed gun shot injury to Subodh Kumar Singh in addition to injuries sustained by hard and blunt object. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had announced ex gratia of Rs 40 lakh to Wife of inspector Subodh Kumar and 10 Lakh to Parents of the civilian.
