From hugs to Official Declarations, here’s how Pakistan has gone all out to pitch for Rahul Gandhi as PM in 2019

Pakistan Government has gone all out to endorse Congress President Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister of India. They have left no stone unturned to bring Rahul Gandhi back into power in 2019.

Pakistan Government has gone all out to endorse Congress President Rahul Gandhi as the next Prime Minister of India. They have left no stone unturned to bring Congress back into power in 2019. From hugs to Official Declarations, they have resorted to every possibility to show their support to Congress.

'REMOVE MODI' COMMENT:

In 2015, former union minister and Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar visited Pakistan, however, his visit stoked a fresh controversy when the leader participated in a panel discussion on a Pakistani news channel. He stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to be removed if talks between the two nations have to resume. Pakistan also went ahead and used similar sentiments after which BJP government alleged that both Congress and Pakistan have the same agenda i.e. "to remove PM Modi". 

SECRET MEETING:

During the 2017 Gujarat elections, BOFORS petitioner and senior BJP leader Ajay Agrawal claimed that he had proof of a secret meeting between Pakistan Government's informal representative, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and suspended Congress leader Mani Shankar Aiyar on December 6. 

The Pakistani High Commissioner along with former Vice President of India Hamid Ansari and former the former PM visited the residence of Mani Shankar Aiyar in the national capital.

2018 KARNATAKA ELECTIONS:

During the 2018 Karnataka election, a time when Congress and BJP were locking horns to win the voting battle, Pakistan commemorated 18th-century ruler Tipu Sultan as 'Tiger of Mysore' on his 218th Death anniversary. It was in a form of a tweet on the official twitter handle of Pakistan Government.

SIDHU-PAK ARMY CHIEF HUG: 

Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was allotted a seat next to the President of Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) Masood Khan, during the swearing-in ceremony of newly elected Prime Minister Imran Khan on August 18, 2018. Not only this, he was seen hugging Pakistan’s army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Even though the Congress leader faced backlash for his 'hug gesture', Sidhu went on to defend his actions and said:

“My visit to the neighbouring country was not political. I went there on the invitation of my friend Imran Khan. It is just a normal human reaction. Will you show your back if someone offers the hand of friendship?”  

PAK CITES RAHUL GANDHI ON RAFALE ISSUE:

A day after Rahul Gandhi lauded former France Minister François Hollande for exposing the lies in the Rafale deal, Pakistan's Information and Broadcast minister Fawad Hussain took to Twitter and referred Rahul Gandhi's tweets to mount a scathing attack on BJP. He shared screenshots of Rahul's tweets on his twitter handle and captioned it as: "These tweets explain BJP led Tirade against Pakistan, Apni Jang Khud Lado #RafaelDeal"

PAK DECLARE RAHUL AS PM:

Pakistan Ex-minister, Rehman Malik went a step ahead and declared Rahul Gandhi as the next PM of India. He not only stated that 'Rahul will beat PM' but also urged Indian people to respect him. He took to Twitter and campaigned for Rahul Gandhi.

He further went onto laud the Congress President for exposing the Rafale scam. 

In the wee hours of Monday, the former Interior Minister of Pakistan also posted a video against PM Modi, in which Rahul Gandhi was attacking him over the Rafale deal.
