The official site of Graduate Aptitude Test Examination 2020 (GATE 2020) has not been working for a couple of hours now. The authorities of GATE 2020 have issued an official statement on the website "Because of heavy traffic load in the GATE application portal, the last date of application with normal fees has been extended up to 26th September."

The students were all ready to appear the GATE examination when a technical bug cropped up on the website. This created panic among students as the last date of the examination filling the form was September 24, 2019. However, no official statement by the authorities has been issued on the subject. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) had issued a statement, reminding the students that the application process needs to be completed and the payment should be done on time.

If the process is not completed within the given deadline, the candidates will be charged a sum of fee between September 25 to October 1, 2019. This provision will give students the time to apply with a slightly higher fee. Candidates appearing from India are charged ₹ 500 and those applying from abroad are charged $ 20.
