The official site of Graduate Aptitude Test Examination 2020 (GATE 2020) has not been working for a couple of hours now. The site of the examination site is not responding as expected, as the last date of filling the form is around the corner. This technical issue has created panic among students, leaving them confused. Here is some information about the current situation, that you need to know.

The authorities of GATE 2020 have issued an official statement on the website "Because of heavy traffic load in the GATE application portal, the last date of application with normal fees has been extended up to 26th September."

The students were all ready to appear the GATE examination when a technical bug cropped up on the website. This created panic among students as the last date of the examination filling the form was September 24, 2019. However, no official statement by the authorities has been issued on the subject. The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) had issued a statement, reminding the students that the application process needs to be completed and the payment should be done on time.

If the process is not completed within the given deadline, the candidates will be charged a sum of fee between September 25 to October 1, 2019. This provision will give students the time to apply with a slightly higher fee. Candidates appearing from India are charged ₹ 500 and those applying from abroad are charged $ 20.

This technical issue will be dealt with by the authoritative board of GATE 2020. Students are advised to wait for the issue to get solved. The reason for the website crash is high traffic, crashing servers and making it unresponsive.

The GATE 2020 examinations will be conducted in the year 24 papers, where the candidates will be allowed to appear only for one paper in one session.
