Goa records 476 new COVID-19 cases; tally reaches 10,970

As many as 476 persons tested positive for coronavirus infection in Goa on Friday, taking the coastal state's tally to 10,970, an official from the health department said.

At least 245 patients were discharged from various treatment facilities, rising the number of recoveries to 7,157, the official said.

"Of the 3,707 swab samples, 2,451 tested negative, while reports of 476 came out positive for the infection," he said, adding that reports of 780 suspected patients were awaited.

Moreover, with the death of two COVID-19 patients, the toll in the state now stands at 93, the official added.

Goa's COVID-19 figures are as follows: Positive cases 10,970, new cases 476, deaths 93, discharged 7,157, active cases 3,720, samples tested till date 1,62,126.
