Milind Deora mocks BJP-Shiv Sena alliance
Earlier, the Congress leader mocked the BJP Shiv Sena alliance and their 50-50 seat-sharing formula. Deora took to Twitter and tweeted the lyrics of a popular American comedy folk duo– Garfunkel and Oates. The leader tweeted, "I’ll always be here for you For methodically allotted amounts of time I’ll be there to hold your hand If I happen to be in town And any time you need me There’s a 50/50 chance I’ll be around.”
On November 5, the leader shared a picture of a popular cookie brand '50:50' and said, "Maharashtra politics is indeed sweet & salty," mocking the alliance again. The leader's comments come amid the Shiv Sena and BJP tussle over power-sharing in Maharashtra.

BJP-Shiv Sena tussle
Ever since the results of the Maharashtra General Assembly were declared, the BJP and Shiv Sena have been at loggerheads over who will get what portfolio. Shiv Sena has been demanding BJP to respect a '50-50' seat-sharing formula to form the government. The Shiv Sena has demanded equal power-sharing in the state, including being vocal about the installation of Aaditya Thackeray. Meanwhile, the BJP has insisted that Devendra Fadnavis will return as the Chief Minister.
The BJP-Shiv Sena Alliance
In the 2019 Assembly Elections, the BJP and Shiv Sena contested in an alliance, the BJP contested on 150 seats and Shiv Sena fought on 124 seats in Maharashtra. Alliance partners of BJP fielded 14 candidates on the party's lotus symbol.
