Following his comments condemning the ongoing exodus-like situation in Gujarat, PAAS leader Hardik Patel has exclusively spoken to Republic TV and shared his views on the matter. On being questioned about the face behind the incident, he expressed his discontent with the division of the Gujaratis and Non-Gujarati in the state.
"This sort of incident did not happen before in Gujarat. I highly condemn this incident. There are people who are trying to divide us. We should not give a political colour to the sad incident", said Hardik Patel.
He went onto say that the crime committed by one man, should not let to the condemnation of an entire community.
"We cannot criticize the entire community of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh only because one man has committed the crime. There are factories which have been shut down due to the mass exodus in Gujarat. Companies there will face problems with the migration of the hard-working labour force in the state. I agree that miscreants have targeted the people from UP and Bihar," said the social activist.
"I really want the accused behind this crime to be caught as soon as possible. This is the responsibility of the Gujarat police and BJP government to provide security to the people in the state and should probe the matter including the case of Thakore Sena," Hardik Patel spoke to Republic TV.
Further, he emphasized on considering every citizen as one nation, as he said, "We all are one nation. We should not divide the people in the names of their caste and creed. I want Alpesh Thakore to understand that because of one person who raped the minor victim, an entire community cannot be blamed. He should understand and take the people from his party together as one nation and not let the non-Gujarati people migrate from Gujarat."
Earlier on Monday, Hardik Patel had tweeted to condemn the attack on North Indians in Gujarat as he wrote that the whole nation is standing with the kin of the victim to ensure that those responsible for the attack get punished. But we can’t blame the whole country for the wrongdoing of one individual.
