  • The Republican Party of India (A) chief rhymed a small poem hailing the Union Budget.

Ramdas Athawale, with his poetic demeanour, has often triggered a laughing riot in the Parliament, this time, the Union Minister had a peculiar reason for Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman not drinking water while delivering the Budget 2019 speech.

Athawale speaking over the Budget in Rajya Sabha, addressed the water crisis and the monsoons mayhem in Mumbai while doing so giving an outlandish reason claimed that the Finance Minister did not drink water while delivering a 2-hour-long speech because 'people don't get water to drink'

He said, "Our Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman read the Budget for 2 hours, but she did not drink any water. She didn't drink because people don't get water to drink and this Budget will work towards them."

Prior to making the claim, the Republican Party of India (A) chief rhymed a small poem hailing the Union Budget.

He said, "Ye band hua gate nahi, ye band hua gate nahi hai ye toh Modi Sarkaar ka acha Budget hai. Ye toh gaaribi hatane wala set hai. Ye toh Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas aur Sabka Vishwas ka bhet hai."

(This isn't a shut gate, but Modi government's Budget. It is to eradicate poverty, this is a gift of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas aur Sabka Vishwas)

"Modi government received a massive mandate, be it Dalit, Adivasi, OBC, Muslim or Hindu, everybody has supported the Modi government. It is a huge success. People have supported us for 5 years," he added.

Athawale, again tuned a little poetry for the Upper House.

He said, "Hume milenge Sakaar ko chalane ke 20 saal, aur Congress ka hoga aisa hi haal."

(We will get 20 years to run the government, Congress will have the same condition)

The Jal Shakti Ministry, which is executing the government's mission to provide clean and piped drinking water to every household in the country, has been earmarked Rs 28,261.59 crore in the budget 2019-20. The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation and Ministry of Water Resources and Ganga Rejuvenation have been merged into the Jal Shakti Ministry under the second term of the Narendra Modi government.
