A day after the footage of surgical strike conducted by Indian Army was telecast for the first time on television by Republic TV, Pakistan continues to be in denial. Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal has rubbished the video and called surgical strike “a figment of India’s imagination.”
“This is a figment of Indian imagination. I have said this earlier, you will drown too, this is my experience,” said the Pakistan MoFA spokesperson.
Prior to this, former Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit said the surgical strike video was a “fabricated one”.
“I do not attach much importance to that because such things can always be fabricated & this is what has been done in my view because no surgical strike was ever conducted as claimed by India, it was cross LoC firing, so nothing beyond that,” said Basit.
Abdul Basit also alleged that India is creating a hype around the surgical strike as it is election time in the country.
“It's a violation of the 2003 ceasefire understanding, so India has been committing that & still you know one would hope & wish that understanding can be translated or converted into a formal agreement, India obviously is not amenable to that suggestion, so these violations are continuing unfortunately, so as far as for the so called surgical strike I can only say that Pakistan is very well prepared to respond to such misadventures if there are any on the part of India but at the same time, we all understand as to why India is creating a hype around it because now elections are to take place in India next year so they are all because of domestic politics that how Pakistan-India relations, they become hostage to Indian domestic politics, that is very unfortunate, as far as Pakistan is concerned, you all know India is no more an election issue for us, we have walked past that phase in our national life but we hope that the Indian politicians, Indian government, the Indian establishment would also realise that the time has now come to move on than continue to be stuck in this unhelpful grove,” said the former Pakistan High Commissioner.
Earlier on Wednesday, 636 days after the Indian Army carried out a Surgical Strike on terror-launchpads in Pakistan, Republic TV exclusively accessed visual footage of the same.
The visuals of the Surgical Strike, which were authenticated by Lt Gen DS Hooda who led the operation, contains footage of the Indian Army smoking out terrorists and destroying terror launchpads.
