A day after insulting the sentiments of the people and the Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj, while taking a jibe at the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh cabinet after they took a holy dip in the Kumbh Sangam, the Congress party has once again attacked the Hindu religion saying that the Hindu ideology is dividing the country.
Congress MP from Thiruvananthapuram Shashi Tharoor on Thursday took to Twitter, while replying to a tweet, and wrote that the "Hindi, Hindu, Hindutva ideology is dividing our country". He also wrote to seek 'unity and not uniformity' after attacking the Hindu sentiments in his tweet.

This attack on the Hindu community has come days before newly-appointed Congress Uttar Pradesh general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Gandhi is scheduled to take a holy dip in the Kumbh Sangam.
On Wednesday, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor insulted the religious beliefs of the Hindu community in the country while attempting to make a remark contrasting the clean 'Ganga campaign' with the holy river being a place for cleansing 'sins', and adding an immature comment about people being unclothed. He posted a tweet targeting the people who visit the Kumbh Mela to take a dip in the holy Ganga at the Sangam at Prayagraj
"Ganga bhi swachh rakhni hain, aur paap bhi yahi dhone hain. Iss Sangam mein sab nange hain. Jai Ganga Maiya ki! (Ganga has to be kept clean, and sins also have to be washed there. In this sangam (meeting point of rivers) everyone is naked. Hail Goddess Ganga!)", Shashi Tharoor said in a tweet while sharing a picture of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet along with CM Yogi Adityanath as they took a holy dip in the Kumbh Sangam.
