Home Minister Amit Shah celebrates International Yoga Day in Rohtak, credits PM Modi for his efforts towards recognition of Yoga on global platform

Union Home Minister Amit Shah led the celebrations of the 5th International Yoga Day in Rohtak, Haryana, along with state's Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. 

Taking to Twitter on Friday morning, he extended best wishes to the citizens of India on the occasion of International Yoga Day, saying that it is a matter of great pride for the Indians that with the efforts of PM Modi, the whole world is not only celebrating Yoga, but also adopting it in their daily lifestyle.

He further added that the knowledge of Yoga is for the welfare of the whole world, such that the world is adopting the practice of Yoga. 

Earlier, speaking on the occasion of International Yoga Day in Ranchi, PM Modi said that peace and harmony have always been associated with Yoga, which can heal several challenges the world faces.

"Today when the world is accepting Yoga, we also have to further research on Yoga, we have to unite Yoga with fields of medicine, physiotherapy, artificial intelligence," he added. 

The International Yoga Day is being celebrated across the world annually on June 21, since 2015.
