Home Minister Amit Shah meets family of Anantnag martyr Arshad Khan during Jammu & Kashmir visit, offers condolences
On his maiden visit to J&K on Thursday, Home Minister Amit Shah met the family of Anantnag terror attack martyr Arshad Khan in Kashmir.

On his maiden visit to J&K on Thursday after taking over charge, Home Minister Amit Shah met the family of Anantnag terror attack martyr Arshad Khan in Kashmir.
The Home Minister visited the martyr's family and offered his condolences at their residence. Taking to Twitter, he shared pictures of his meeting with the family and said that martyr Arshad Khan's "sacrifice for the security of our nation has saved many lives. Entire nation is proud of Arshad Khan‘s valour & courage".
Inspector Khan suffered injuries during the terrorist attack in Anantnag. He was rushed to a local hospital and then shifted to AIIMS Delhi where he succumbed to injuries. He is survived by a wife and two sons, aged four and one. Five other personnel, too, died in the Anantnag attack.
On the first day of his visit to Jammu and Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah held a review meeting and took a detailed review of various development schemes and projects on Wednesday. Governor Satya Pal Malik, Union Home Secretary, all the four Advisors, Chief Secretary and Senior officials of the State and Central Government were also present in the meeting. He also held a security review meeting with regards to the Amarnath Yatra in the state.
Home Minister Amit Shah's Jammu and Kashmir visit is deemed to be a historic one as the separatists in the state, for the first time in 30 years, did not call for a bandh.
