Addressing the ‘Howdy, Modi! Shared Dreams, Bright Futures’ community gathering on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has thanked United States of America President Donald Trump for the praise showered on his regime. He started off by asking the audience about their well-being, using the term ‘Howdy’. The PM remarked that the atmosphere and the optics at the NRG Stadium were unbelievable. He observed that it is the habit of Texas to organise every single event on a large scale.
PM Modi said that the spirit of Texas was being reflected on this occasion. Stressing that the vast audience could not be measured in mere arithmetic, he opined that history was being created. The PM also referred to the fact that there was new chemistry between the two countries.
“The energy emanating from the NRG Stadium is the proof of the growing synergy between India and the US,” he remarked.
According to PM Modi, US President Trump and other elected leaders’ praises on the country and himself was, in fact, the acknowledgment of the achievements of the Indian-American community. The Prime Minister added that this was the honour of 1.3 billion people of India.
After landing in Houston, PM Modi met energy sector CEOs and also interacted with the Kashmiri Pandits, Dawoodi Bohra, and the Sikh delegations. While the Sikh community congratulated him for his Government's Kartarpur Corridor initiative, the Kashmiri Pandits expressed their joy on the Centre's move on Article 370. The Dawoodi Bohra group recalled the PM's 2018 visit to their community programme in Indore.
The 'Howdy, Modi!' event is being hosted in his honour in Houston, Texas. More than 50,000 people registered for it. Before US President Trump’s arrival and address, a 90-minute cultural programme titled “Woven: The Indian-American Story” enthralled the audience. It featured 400 artists from Texas and other parts of the United States of America, with 27 groups performing in a seamless manner.
